Search for "Florida King bed" and you'll find three different answers: that it's 108" wide by 80" long, that it's 80" wide by 108" long, and that it's just another name for a California King. The real Florida King dimensions
A Florida King mattress measures 108" wide x 80" long — nine feet of width at standard King length. It is a true oversized size, not a regional nickname: 32 inches wider than a standard King (76" x 80") at exactly the same length.
Why the internet disagrees
Two things muddy the water. A handful of regional retailers have used "Florida King" informally as a synonym for California King (72" x 84"), which is where the "same size" articles come from — but no oversized maker uses it that way. And because 108 x 80 reads as naturally in either order, some sites have published the dimensions sideways, describing a bed that's longer than it is wide. If you're buying anything labeled Florida King, confirm the maker means 108" of width and 80" of length before you order.

The Florida King is the width size. Because it keeps standard King length, it fits rooms that an Alaskan King can't — you need roughly a 14' x 12' bedroom rather than 14' x 13'+ — while sleeping two adults, a kid or two, and the dog with genuine space between everyone.
